Our STORY

From humble beginnings to delivering world-class engineering solutions to the satellite and space industry.

Our History

Go Global Communications (GGC) was founded in September 2012. In 2015, an external management team was appointed to guide the next phase of growth. The business then underwent a significant transition in 2023, with ownership restructured and a renewed vision and commitment to experienced, hands-on leadership.

In April 2023, Adam Kirkby stepped in as Interim CEO to stabilise the company, while continuing to oversee operations and technology. Then in September 2023, he persuaded Scott Mumford, with whom he had previously worked at Liquid, to join as CEO to lead, reposition and drive the strategic and commercial direction of the business. Together, they have defined GGC’s vision and sharpened its focus, aligning the company firmly around its core strength: satellite and space ground segment engineering.

Today, GGC is focused on serving key operators across the global satellite and space markets, with customer acquisition driven by the team’s deep engineering expertise, its proven delivery capability, and no small commitment to technical excellence. Our ethos is captured clearly in our strapline, “Engineering Excellence, Delivered!” — a reflection of both our high standards and the levels of accountability to which we stand.

As a privately held, customer-centric and staff-focused organisation, we combine agility with experience. We are firmly focussed on building a market-leading reputation as the go-to partner for satellite and space ground systems worldwide — trusted to deliver, and committed to shaping the future of ground segment engineering.

Scott Mumford, CEO, Go Global Communications

Scott joined the satellite communications industry in 1997 and brings more than 25 years of deep, hands-on experience across the full satellite ground and network ecosystem. His career spans engineering, solution design, commercial leadership, and executive management, giving him a rare end-to-end understanding of how complex satellite systems are designed, built, operated, and commercialised.

Beginning his career with Williams Global Access (later Loral Cyberstar), Scott went on to hold senior engineering and solution design roles with organisations including Kingston (later Arqiva), Datasat, and Liquid. His experience covers teleport and network engineering, satellite ground systems, service design, and large-scale commercial solutions for enterprise, carrier, and government customers.

Scott later became CEO of Liquid Telecom Satellite Services, a division of the Liquid Telecom Group — the largest independent voice and data provider across the African continent. In this role, he was responsible for the delivery and growth of mission-critical satellite services across diverse and challenging environments, working closely with customers to ensure reliability, performance, and long-term value.

In 2024, Scott became CEO of Go Global Communications, where he has grown the company into a leading global provider of satellite ground segment solutions. He works directly with customers to design, integrate, and deliver high-quality ground systems that meet both current operational needs and future scalability requirements.

Widely regarded as a trusted authority in satellite communications, Scott is a frequent speaker at international industry events, including AfricaCom. He is known for his practical, customer-focused approach and his belief that satellite technology plays a critical role in the future of resilient, global connectivity.

Outside of work, Scott is a keen Formula 1 enthusiast and lifelong advocate of the satellite communications industry.

Adam Kirkby - COO

Adam began his career in 1995, serving in the Army where he developed a strong foundation in leadership, discipline, and mission-critical operations. After more than a decade of service, he transitioned in 2007 to the Middle East as a private contractor, operating in complex and demanding environments that required technical expertise, resilience, and operational precision.

In 2008, Adam entered the telecommunications sector as a Radio Network Engineer with Airwave, supporting the UK’s national TETRA emergency services network. He went on to join Arqiva in 2010 as a Teleport Engineer, working within one of the UK’s leading satellite teleport operators. Building on this experience, he joined Avanti Communications in 2011 as a Senior Ground Systems Engineer, contributing to the development and operation of satellite ground infrastructure for a UK satellite operator. He later returned to Arqiva in 2012 to work on special engineering projects as a contractor.

In September 2012, Adam founded Go Global Communications (GGC), initially providing specialist engineering support to satellite operators, including the then high-growth startup O3b. He retained ownership of GGC while joining O3b in 2016, following its acquisition by SES, where he served as Director of Operations. After leaving SES in 2022, Adam became Head of Satellite Commercial Operations at Liquid Telecom Group before returning full-time to GGC in 2023 as Interim CEO and COO, leading the company through a period of restructuring and renewed strategic focus.

Adam brings deep operational expertise across military, telecommunications, and satellite environments, with a great reputation for steady leadership, technical excellence, and an unwavering ability to deliver under pressure.
